MEMORIES FROM MARCH 2016 ISSUE OF TRI-V UMPH
The Tri-V family would like to thank Karen and Jeff (mostly Karen) for putting the newsletter together for so many years. Karen recently informed us that she would like to give the job to someone else. She has done a great a job over the years keeping TRI-V families informed.
The nomination of three Council Seats will take place at the Club meeting on March 8, 2016. Please review your history of officers list which was provided in January so you will be prepared to nominate and vote officers for a two year council seat.
MARBLES standings the end of March had Kim Burke in first place with 50 points, Kristen Trachsel and Steve Trachsel tied for second with 48 points and in third place was Matt Hoffman.
Ken and Kate Stress hosted February pinochle with seven couples. Great food followed with cards. Romas came in first place for the evening.
PINOCHLE STANDINGS the end of February had Romas Bliudzius in first place with 116 points; Jane Trachsel in second place with 114.5 points and Mike Trachsel in third place with 99 points.
Final Pinochle and Marbles is scheduled for Sunday April 17; dinner from 5-7 p.m. followed by feather bowling from 7-8 p.m.
The March Event is scheduled for March 26, 2016 which is an Outdoor Adventure followed after the tour.
Tri-V golf will start on April 18 with 1 flight this year using 100% handicap. There will be two halves to the season.
May Open house is scheduled for May 14, 2016 at Beacon Hill, White Lake Township. This will be a shotgun start with dinner following golf consisting of hamburgers and hotdogs. The month of Feb. is gone and like Jan. was not the best month for snowbirds. John’s hip continues to give him problems and is able to golf but limited to nine holes. He plans to have his hip replaced when he returns to Michigan. Jan and Cal Cashman and Lee and Marian Anderson have made it to FL. Marian is recuperating from her hip replacement with physical therapy while Lee has surgery planned on his knee in May in Michigan. Cashmans and Lardins will be returning to Michigan sometime in April.
Sherry Kuhr thanked everyone best month for the snowbirds in FL. There were many cloudy days and very few days in the 80’s or high 70’s. Judy made another trip up north to take care of her crown and to see Alyssa. John’s hip continues to give him some problems but not as severe as it was in Jan. He has been able who has a new address for Marilyn Myers. She would love to hear from her Tri-V friends.
Terry Connolly had his mitral valve replaced in February with a bovine valve. He was planning to have shoulder surgery however during his pre-op physical he was sent to see a cardiologist. Surgery went well and was in home in four days. He developed bronchitis with much pressure and pain on his chest with coughing. He is now walking one block and is improving thanks to all the prayers being said for him.
This wraps up another trip down memory lane. 2010 was the last year for the steak roast to be held at Fraser Acres. Fraser and Blondie were such gracious hosts for over 25 years. As I type the memories there seems to be less and less to reflect upon. Take the time to share your memories with family and friends. Until we see you in print next month, the Good Lord willing, take care of one another.
