MEMORIES FROM THE MAY 2009 ISSUE OF TRI-V UMPH

We ask you to remember in your prayers Club Member Stan Reid. Stan passed away on April 12 at the age of 76. Many of our current members did not know Stan became a member in 1995 at the age of 60 and was sponsored by Bill Trachsel Sr. Many of our current Club members were not even around then. We also ask you to remember in your prayers Betty Galloway who has a blood disorder and has to have blood transfusions every so often and is still going through tests to find out what else is wrong; also to Nick Angelosanto who is having lots of new back pain and having a treatment at the Providence Pain Center the 5th of May. Congratulations were in order for John Mackson for being picked as the New Herald Newspaper “2009 High School Basketball dream Team Coach”. Once again Judy Lardin was off flying somewhere, this time to IL to be the Confirmation Sponsor for her great-niece while Vickie Angelosanto is going the first weekend in May to AZ to travel with her mom to MI. Final golf will be the weekend of Aug. 15-17 with reservations at Ray’s Retreat in Gaylord. The children’s Christmas party is scheduled for December 14 at Eddie Edgar Ice arena; more to follow. Judy and John Lardin ‘s return from Florida was short lived; she made arrangements to go to Illinois to assist her sister who is having both knees replaced in May followed by the graduation of her great niece the last weekend of May. Upon her return they will go to Corpus Christi, TX to visit Larry and family. The grandchildren keep asking “When are they coming to see us?” That wraps up another trip down memory lane. Each month I encourage all to share their memories with their family members and friends. With us just celebrating Mother’s Day and Father’s Day approaching take time to get to know Mom and Dad again if you are fortunate to have them around. Remember the song by Cat Stevens when he sings about the father who did not have time for his son and when his son became a man did not have the time for his dad that “He had grown up just like me.” Don’t let this happen to you with your Mom or Dad or Grandparents. Call on another, Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, Brother or sister just to say “Hello”. Maybe try and find the time to call an Aunt or Uncle or cousin that you have been out of touch with because Mom and Dad are no longer around. I think of what my father-in-law who I loved dearly always said “When I die just cremate me because the only reason for a funeral viewing is to see the relatives that you have not seen since the last funeral.” Don’t let your memories come to that. Take the time to share our good as well as sad/bad times with one another. Until next month when we see you in print, the Good Lord willing, take care of one another.
