MAY MEMORIES
MEMORIES FROM THE MAY 2008 ISSUE OF TRI-V UMPH
The month of May, 2008, issue of the Tri-V Umph was a more friendly issue to read as all seemed to be in good health. There were more articles about the different events than the comings and goings of Club Members. Bob and Peg Wendt had Bill and Shirley Suchner visiting them for a three day visit. Kathy and Art Dushary were getting their new home in Ocala FL fixed up for the following year while daughters Carol moving to Vero Beach FL making both daughters close to Bob and Peg. This was Art’s first year of full retirement and he’s put his home in Michigan on the market. Andrea Trachsel, daughter of Jeff Trachsel had completed her studies at Schoolcraft College, Livonia, and was preparing to start the nursing program at Henry Ford Community College, Dearborn, in the fall. Son Ryan was in the California desert on training maneuvers for his stint back in Iraq. Final Pinochle was held on April 5th at the AM Vets Hall in Westland. There was an open bar and socializing followed with a buffet dinner than a TRI-V version of Jeopardy with the winning team comprising of Bud Massoll, Romas Bliudzius, Tom and Bonnie Untener, Terry and Ellie Connolly and Nick and Victoria Angelosanto. Upcoming listed events included May Open House at Gateway Golf Club, Romulus, on May 10, the initiation of Steve Trachsel on June 6 at the Speakeasy, Dearborn Heights, the annual TRI-V Family Picnic on July 27 at Gunnar Mettala Park, Wixom, the annual TRI-V Steak Roast on August 9, also at Mettala Park, Wixom and lastly Final Golf the weekend of August 16 through August 18 at Kendallville, IN. MEMORIES FROM THE MAY 2013 ISSUE OF TRI-V UMPH
There were very few trifles in the May 2013 issue to report. In fact the only trifle was the southern journey by Bob and Sherry Kuhr, their trip included visits with Art and Kathie Dushary, playing cards and board games with the whole family, and spending time relaxing with the Clingerman’s in South Carolina.
The 2013 Tri-V election was held on March 13 and the new officers were President Bill Trachsel, Vice President Steve Trachsel, Treasurer Mike Trachsel and Secretary Matt VanHollebeke. Elected to the council were Dion Angelosanto, Bob Kuhr and Ken Stress.
Final Pinochle was held on April 20 at Leon’s in Wixom. There were 17 members and 16 guests in attendance. The first place winner was Jane Trachsel who was not present to accept the first place plaque as she was visiting her Aunt and casino in Indiana.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all our mothers and grandmothers a Happy Mother’s Day. Speaking of Grandmothers they have to remember that they have to spoil their grandchildren. It’s a grandparent’s right and responsibility as well as a grandchild’s expectation. Speaking of grandparents we all know the power of a strong handshake but remember that one of the most powerful handclasps is that of a new grandbaby around the finger of a grandfather. Our children and grandchildren grow up so fast. We have memories of our childhood with our grandparents. Share these memories with our children and grandchildren. We take time to discuss the daily happenings going on in our lives, take the time to share some of the memories also. Until we see you in print next month, the Good Lord willing, take care of one another.
