MAY MEMORIES
MEMORIES FROM THE MAY 2007 ISSUE OF TRI-V UMPH
We are saddened by the news that Ray Suchner, our founder of TRI-V, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Traverse City on May 13th at the age of 89. What a wonderful man and cannot ever have thanked him enough for his vision in starting the TRI-V Club. He and Dorothy would have been married 68 years in June. Our prayers go out to Dorothy and the Suchner family. Others in need of our prayers are Peg Wendt who still needs a lot of assistance. She can manage her walker in the house but mostly needs the wheelchair when she is out and Terry Dunham whose shoulder is “all messed up.” Shoulder surgery is set for June 13th which should correct his problems but make it a long summer of therapy. Lastly is Curt Marti who suffered a fracture of the 7 vertebrae in his neck from a motorcycle accident on May 14th. Please remember all in your prayers. Visitors in the area included Jan and Cal Cashman’s daughter, Kathy and family from Arizona and Kim and Larry Lardin and family from San Antonio, TX for a week in June. Before the visit Judy Lardin spent a week at her Mom’s home in Illinois and Gina and Brian Lardin have moved into their new home in South Lyon, 8/10s of a mile from the club house of Coyote. Plans have been finalized for the 70th Anniversary Party the weekend of June 22nd at McGuire’s Resort in Cadillac, MI. The Tri-V Picnic will be July 15th at Gunnar Metalla Park, Wixom. Final Pinochle was held April 4th at Madonna University, Livonia with 43 in attendance. Lynn Barnes was the winner of the 2006-2007 TRI-V Pinochle Season for the second consecutive season. How many of the special Anniversary Parties can you remember the 50th on Mackinac Island, 60th in Indiana and 70th in Cadillac?

Our prayers went out to Karen Thrift who spent two days in the hospital trying to pass a 1 ½ inch kidney stone and had blocked off her kidney and created an infection. They put in a stint and she has to return May 9th to remove the stint and kidney stone.
Congratulations to Karen’s Grandson who will be graduating from U o=f D Mercy with two bachelor degrees and pre law certificate. John is also a U.S. Marine reservist.
Judy Lardin had to make an emergency trip to IL as her mother was having some heart issues. After test they determined it was caused by some medication and the problem was corrected. Mike Lardin has been off work for two weeks with an inflamed Achilles tendon and has been wearing a special boot. While Judy was in IL John was finalizing their plans for the condo rental in Ft. Myers. Same complex but different condo.
The TRI-V Women’s May dinner was set for May 16th at Bahama Breeze, Livonia, and May Open House set for May 19th at Gateway Golf Club, Romulus, and the 75th TRI-V Anniversary Party the weekend of June 23rd is Chelsea, the Steak Roast on Aug. 11th at Mettala Park, Wixom and finally Final Golf the weekend of Aug.17th in Gaylord.
This wraps up another trip down memory lane. It does not seem that we are ready to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of THE CLUB. Once again it is time to share our memories ouse wasHouse
with the younger Club Members. Make them aware of the effort that has been put into making the Club last this long. It takes a lot of “Loyalty, Co-operation and Friendship to make this happen. Until we see you next month, the Good Lord willing, take care of one another.
