JUNE MEMORIES
MEMORIES FROM THE JUNE 2007 ISSUE OF TRI-V UMPH
This was a special issue as it was the 70th Anniversary Issue. The bulk of the writings were the Anniversary Greetings though we did offer our prayers to Kirk Trachsel, son of Art and brother of Diane Plocharczyk, who suffered a heart attack on June 18th in Las Vegas. Our prayers are asked for Kirk. We were also asked to remember in our prayers Ryan Trachsel, son of Jeff. As you know Ryan is in the Marines stationed in Iraq and we ask the Man upstairs to watch over him and return him to us safely. Congratulations to our newest prospective, Steve Trachsel, for being offered a permanent teaching job for the Livonia School District. Curt Martin is doing well after his motorcycle accidence. Those coming and going included Sherry Kuhr, Ellie Connolly and Jan Cashman who spent three days in Clare Mi golfing; and Larry Lardin and family visiting Judy and John from TX for a week. The Wives Club May Dinner had 14 women in attendance. The TRI-V Family Picnic was set for July at Metalla Park, Wixom and the TRI-V Steak Roast was set for August also at Metalla Park. Not too much to share these two months. Hard to believe that it has been ten years that Brian and Gina Lardin and Dion and AnnMarie Angelosanto have been married. Did anyone notice the drop off of attendance from 22 to 14 ladies attending their May Dinner? This seems to be the trend of a lot of events lately in the Club. For the Club to continue as we know it we need more members as well as more participation of current members. Let us all do our best to try to correct this situation. This year we celebrate the 75th Anniversary of TRI-V Club. We all thought the 50th Anniversary Party at Mackinac Island was great and would not be topped. I think the 70th Anniversary Party in Cadillac was as good if not better. How will the 75th Anniversary Party in Chelsea compare? It will only be as good as those attending the Party want it to be.
MEMORIES FROM THE JUNE 2012 ISSUE OF TRI-V UMPH
We are sorry to have to share the loss of long time Member Jim DeLanoy on
May 27th. Our prayers are also requested for Karen Thrift’s granddaughter, Jordan. They think the cancer is back. She has a spot on her lung is now undergoing Cat Scans and possibly a Pet Scan to determine if it is cancer again. Kathy and Art Dushary will be closing June 15 or sooner with immediate occupancy. Now they have to find a place to live. They have a trip planned to Idaho in mid July. Those travelling include Diane and Ken Plocharczyk with a trip to Virginia and Delaware in May to visit friends they met on their honeymoon 18 years ago. Their trip home included a tour of Flight 193 memorial honoring those who died on that flight on September 11. Also travelling was Judy and John Lardin to visit Larry and family in Texas for seven days. You read it right 7 days. John was able to get in two rounds of golf but with the wind, temperature, and humidity was not a lot of fun. When they returned; they were able to complete the renovation to the kitchen, dining room, living room caused by the icemaker leak in April while they were in Florida. The June Stag was cancelled because of lack of participation. The 75th Anniversary was scheduled for June 23 and 24 in Chelsea. Latest count had 38 for show at Purple Rose Theatre and 47 for dinner that evening. Upcoming events included Family Picnic on July 15 to be held at Clintonwood Park, Clarkston; the steak roast on August 11 at Mettala Park, Wixom; and final golf the weekend of Aug. 17-19 at Ray’s retreat, Gaylord. This year we celebrate the 80th Anniversary of TRI-V Club. We all thought the 50th Anniversary party at Mackinac Island was great and could not be topped. I think the 70th Anniversary party in Cadillac was as good if not better. How will the 80th Anniversary in Pleasant Lake compare? It will only be as good as those attending the Party want it to be. With the summer months finally here continue to share with your family and friends the memories of past summers growing up. You will be surprised as to how many things one will have forgotten when discussed. Until we see you in print next month, the Good Lord willing, take care of one another.
