    From John & Judy Lardin

This winter has not been a good one for John Lardin. The weather in FL this year was not good as we normally got 1.9 in. of rain in Jan. and this year we had 19 in. of rain. The month of Feb. was mostly cloudy with the daily temp lucky to get in the mid 70’s. March was more to all likings with the temp finally hitting the low to mid 80s. The only thing to add was the two tornados that were within two miles of the condo. On the personal level John was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in Jan. and given a cortisone shot hoping to relieve the pain. Unfortunately this did not help so John was stuck with the pain and made arrangements to have the hip replaced on his return to MI on April 18th. The blood work showed his count at 8.2 and should have been between 11.2 and 11.5. The hip replacement was cancelled and a colonoscopy was performed on April 20th and a tumor was discovered in the lower part of the colon. A colonoscopy will be performed on April 29th to remove the tumor and hope the tumor has not moved into the lipoids and chemo will not be necessary and the hip replacement will be completed as soon as possible. We thank all for your prayers a well wishes.

With John’s condition not improving he was fortunate to have his “Little” Brother fly down to Ft. Myers FL and drive back with Judy to MI. There is no way that John physically could have made the drive. Just another example of the caring and love of the TRY-V Family that continues.

FOR ALL MOTHERS AND GRANDMOTHERS ON MOTHERS DAY

We have printed this before but feel it is worth repeating with all the new Mothers we have in TRI-V the last couple of years.

… And God Created A Mother

When the Good Lord was creating mothers, he was into his sixth day of overtime when the angel appeared and said “You’re doing a lot of fiddling around on this one…Six pairs of hands? No Way!”

“It’s not the hands that are causing me problems,” said the Lord. “It’s the three pairs of eyes…one pair that sees through closed doors when she asks,”What are u kids doing in there?…Another here in the back of her head that sees what she shouldn’t but what she has to know. And, of course, the ones here in the front that can look at a child who goofs up and says, “I understand and I love you.” without so much as uttering a word…”

The angel circled the model very slowly “It’s too soft,” she sighed.

“But tough!” said the Lord excitedly. You cannot imagine what this mother can do or endure.

    “Can it think?”

“Not only can it think, but it can reason and compromise and dream,” said the Creator.

Finally the angel bent over and ran her finger across the cheek. “There’s a leak,” she pronounced. “I told you you were trying to put too much into the model.”

“It’s not a leak,” said the Lord. “It’s a tear.”

    “What’s it for?”

“It’s for joy, sadness, disappointment, pain, loneliness and pride.”

“You’re a genius,” said the angel.

The Lord looked somber. “I didn’t put it there.”

    From John & Judy Lardin

The time has finally arrived for the Lardin’s to make the trip back to MI. After much discussion it was decided that John should fly back since he continues to have the hip problems. Dear “Little Bro” Nick Angelosanto will fly down to Ft. Myers and drive back with Judy. John will fly back on Wed. and Nick will fly down on Thur. with Judy meeting him at the airport and hop in the car and head north on I-75 from the airport. The route home has to changes as a rock slide at the TN; KY border has closed north bound I-75. John has surgery on the hip scheduled for April 18th followed by four weeks of in home therapy three times a week followed by four weeks of out patient therapy three times a week. No driving for three weeks after surgery and a must to follow the therapy. Judy and John have the condo set again for next year and are hoping the weather will be better than this year. Jan. Ft Myers usually gets 1.8 in of rain and this Jan. they got 19 in along with two tornadoes. Feb it was lucky to get to the mid 70s with little sun most of the month. March was another story with the temps in the 80s and no rain as of this writing. The hip problem limited John to one round (made it though 14 holes) of golf and three rounds of nine holes. Was not a good year for John and looking for a complete recovery from hip surgery and get a chance to be his old self.

    Trifles

    From the Lardins

Hopefully 2016 will be a better year for John health wise than 2015 was.  His lasts bout involved his right hip.  He saw Dr. Lennox on Thur., 12, 17, and x-rays revealed he had a severe case of osteoarthritis in his right hip, back and left hip and the pain in the left hip should be overbearing though John has never had any pain on that side.  The pain on his right side was more in his thigh and it became too painful to put up with, making me hard to walk and sleep.  Back to the Doctor on
Tues., 12/29, to fill out paperwork and have cortisone shot scheduled for the 31st of Dec.  They called on 12/30 and because of cancellations were able to do it on Wed.  The surgery was successful up to the point of a reaction that only 2% get from the cortisone shots called a cortisone slare anywhere to 24 to 48 hours after surgery. One of the effects of the reaction is 24 plus hours of pain worse than the pain before the shot.  Fortunately John did make it through the pain with a lot of TLC from Judy and is finally on the plus side of recovery.   They plan on leaving for Ft. Myers FL on Thur., 1, 7, and returning back to MI on April 12th.  Mid December had Judy and John making another trip to Corpus Christi TX to celebrate granddaughter Christine birthday leaving on Thur., 12, 10, and returning on Mon., 12, 14, along with Christmas.  The trip was good with no flight delays and no overbooking on either part of the trip. By the time most read this we will be in FL only five days late but it seems like two weeks to John.
