    May President’s Message

Happy Mother’s Day to all of our Tri-V moms and grandmothers. Hopefully you all enjoyed a nice afternoon surrounded by family.
There are a lot of updates to report since thew last President’s message: we have voted in a new member (Chris Demick), we finished the bowling season and have started golf, we got defeated by mother nature in our open house, and we have booked several events. Our newsest member will take the official oath next month in a top secret ceremony. Both bowling teams rolled out the end of the season with nothing to show for all their hard work. The golf season is just beginning, and since I haven’t golfed yet I’m not sure how it’s going. The men’s open house was washed out by rain. We played a few holes and tryed to make it work, but putting through a flowing stream proved too difficult for most of us. Please be sure to read the rest of the paper for important event updates regarding the family event, final marbles/pinochle, initiation, open house make up, and much more.

    April President’s Message

I think I am beginning to fully understand the reason why so many Michiganders spend so much time in Florida. After 8 days here we are driving home sun tanned and relaxed. We have heard that it has been cold and snowy back home. Hopefully some of this Florida sunshine will follow us.

The bowling season wraps up this week. Neither of the Tri-V teams were able to get into the roll off this year, but at least we had fun? Golf will begin when the course thaws. Maybe next week.

At this month’s meeting we will be voting on prospective member Chris Demick. Please try to be there to offer your input.

    March President’s Message

Winter appears to be finally wrapping up. There have been a few late snow flurries and some colds days to remind us not to put the winter gear away just yet, but there are enough signs pointing to spring at last. The bowling season is almost over and the two Tri-V based teams are hanging around in the standings. It may be a long shot for either team, but there is still a chance. The golf schedule is being finalized as we set to tee off next month. Marbles and pinochle have concluded and we look forward to a final Pinochle/marbles event to crown the champions. After a few long months of hibernation, I look forward to some outdoor activities.
At the March meeting we will be nominating at voting on three new council members. If you are not going to be at the meeting but would like to volunteer to be on the council please let me know before Tuesday.

    February President’s Message

If you love snow and cold, this February has not disappointed. Hopefully we have seen the worst of it for the rest of this winter.
Despite the cold and snow, we have enjoyed a few opportunities to get together. Last month we traveled across the border to do something truly Canadian; curling. I think the nation of Canada was laughing at us, but we all had fun and no one ended up at Hotel Dieu Grace. Thanks to the council for planning a fun evening.
Marbles and pinochle seasons are wrapping up next month. I’d like to thank Nick and Vickie for hosting everyone this month when my kids were recovering from illnesses.
Our meeting will be this Tuesday at Drakeshire at 6:15. Hope to see everyone there.

    January President’s Message

Happy New Year everyone. I hope your holiday season was peaceful and relaxing. I wish you all the best in 2018. This month we look forward to the council party in Canada. We will be attempting some curling. The way this weather is going, it will be warmer in the arena than outside. We have a club meeting this Tuesday at Drakeshire at 6:15. I hope to see you there. Until then, try to stay warm.

    December President’s Message

Happy Holidays to all of our Tri-V families. it’s hard to believe that the holidays are here already. The holiday season kicked off this weekend with the annual Christmas party. We couldn’t be there, but it looked like the kids enjoyed themselves and the visit from Santa Claus made the day that much more memorable.

Wherever you may be spending this holiday season, enjoy this time with friends and family. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

    November President’s Message

The days have gotten noticeably shorter, the leaves are falling and Christmas has taken over the displays in the stores. Like it or not, winter is coming. We have enjoyed some nice weather over the past few weeks. The men played a round of night golf in mid October which was a lot of fun. Marbles, bowling, and pinochle give us some opportunities to get together and catch up.

Safe travels to all of our snowbirds heading for warmer climates. We will see you in the spring.

    September President's Message

Well it’s back to reality for kids and teachers alike. September has arrived and everyone is back in school. I hope all our Tri-V teachers, children, and school employees have a great school year. June will be here soon enough.
August was a busy month for Tri-V with two big summer events; final golf and the steak roast. The golf season ended with Dave winning the championship so we all decided to go up north to celebrate by golfing more. This year there was a very nice turn out for final golf (24 men in all). The weather cooperated much more than it did last year for us. No one came off the course soaked drenched. Thank you to Mike, Jeff, and Matt V., for making it a memorable weekend. The following weekend we held the annual steak roast at Rotary Park in Livonia. I was not able to make it, but it sounds as if a good time was had by all.
We will begin our monthly meetings next week (Tuesday, September 12) at Drakeshire Lanes. Since we have much to discuss at the September meeting we will begin at 6:00. If you cannot attend, please notify an officer in advance.

    August President’s Message

Just typing the word “August” in the heading of this message gave me a bit of a chill. Summer is flying by and, as usual, I don’t know what happened to the time. Last month we had our family picnic. It was a fun afternoon of games for the kids and catching up with friends. Thank you to Matt V. and John for planning everything. The golf season is winding down with just one week left before the championship round. That means final golf is right around the corner. The steak roast will be at the end of August. It is sure to be a busy month with plenty of opportunities to get together. Enjoy the rest of your summer!

    July President’s Message

Summer is in full swing. That means vacations, golf, baseball games, and beach time for my family. We just completed a week of vacation split between the cottage and camping in Muskegon. Both were filled with lots of fun and great memories for the kids.

Last month we celebrated the 80th anniversary of Tri-V. The committee did an excellent job of planning some fun events for our weekend. We played a Price is Right game, and escape room game, and had some time for golf, wine tasting, a prison tour, or just hanging out at the Inn. Thanks to Brian, Jane, Jack, Jacqui, Bob and Sherry for making the 80th anniversary memorable for everyone.

I hope to see everyone at the picnic in a few weeks. Enjoy some sun and fun in the meantime.
