Jeff called and informed me that Dale Horst had scheduled heart surgery today at St. Johns in Detroit. They put in 2 stents and a temporary heart valve. Everything went very well and he should be home tomorrow (1-22). I have not activated the calling list as he well be home tomorrow. His cell phone (313-802-7761) will be on if anyone wants to call or text Dale.

January 2021 paper dead line for Memories

MEMORIES FROM THE JANUARY 2011 TRI-V UMPH
There were no members needing our prayers in January of 2016.
The Nomination and Election of Officers will take place at the Club meeting in March.
MARBLES standings were as follows in January of 2016—Dave Burke in first place with 35 points; Matt Hoffman, John Lardin, Jack Schaefer were all in second place with 34 points and Kim Burke had 33 points.
Pinochle standings in December 2015 had Jane Trachsel in first place with 73 points; Romas Bliudzius in second with 67.5 points and Mike Trachsel in third place with 63.5 points.
The TRI-V Council party was held on January 9 with 12 people in attendance for the Henry Ford museum tour and then on to LA Bistro for dinner in Dearborn.
John Lardin had issues with his right hip and has a severe case of osteoarthritis in his right hip, back and left hip. The pain on his right was became unbearable and filled out paperwork to have cortisone shot on the 31 of December—fortunately for him they called and were able to do on Dec. 30 due to cancellations. The surgery was successful for John. Judy and John plan to leave for Ft. Myers FL on Jan. 7 and returning to Michigan April 12. Judy and John made another trip to Corpus Christi TX to celebrate grandson’s birthday and Christmas leaving on Dec. 10 and returning Dec. 14.
This ends another trip down memory lane. Can you believe that we had 49 people playing pinochle in 2006 and 44 playing in 2011? For December 2015 the Lardins hosted 10 people. What a drastic change, so sad. The snow birds are settled in FL for three months, while others are looking to get away for a couple of weeks. All of this has an effect on the attendance at Club events and all we ask is everyone make every possible effort to attend as many events as possible. This wraps up another trip down Memory Lane. Until we see you in print next month, The Good Lord willing, take care of one another.

We are going to have a meeting on…

We are going to have a meeting on September 8th at Rotary Park in Livonia start time will be between 7:00 and 7:30 pm. Please try to attend as we will be discussing and voting on the dues and events for the rest of this year and 2021 winter events.
I am recommending that dues be cancelled for next year in light of the virus’s effect on all indoor events. A vote on this and any other club actions that will need to be adjusted due to effects of covid is needed.

TRI V PICNIC INFO The virus still has…

    TRI V PICNIC INFO
The virus still has everything up in the air as far as any gathering and how to do things safely. With that thought in mind the Tri V picnic is still set for July 26th at Rotary Park. Pavilion #3 is reserved and paid for so we will push forward with a number of changes. We will hold the picnic but there will be no shared food or beverages. For anyone who would like to come to the park for an afternoon of fresh air with social distancing please bring any food and drink (will have an alcohol permit) for your own family. Families can make what they want to out of the day with safe activities available. I will have water balloons for the kids for a possible water balloon toss by family and we can also set up some games that will be individual instead of team game so the kids can be spread-out. I will also bring a kick ball and maybe a few different weight volleyballs for a kid’s volleyball game. In addition at the back side of the park there are nature trails for those who would like to take their kids for a forest setting walk.
