MEMORIES FROM THE May 2015 ISSUE OF TRI…

MEMORIES FROM THE May 2015 ISSUE OF TRI-V UMPH
John and Judy Lardin arrived back in MI on April 20. It’s always good to be back in your own bed. John has been suffering with a “bum” ankle since last summer and felt it would eventually go away. After putting up with it all winter he finally went to the doctor and was told he had Achilles tendonitis and surgery was out at this time as there could be complications from the surgery. He was given a boot to wear that comes to the knee. When asked about playing golf the doctor told him he doubted if he could play with it on but not rule out playing sooo John being the sport he is wears a special ace bandage the two days he plays golf. Cannot put into print Judy’s reaction. Upcoming trips include one to Texas in June to visit son Larry and family then to Idaho in July to celebrate Judy’s uncle’s 90th birthday. Judy plans to try to fit a trip to visit her sister in IL and John hopes to fit in a trip to OH to visit his cousin. Congratulations are in order to number 3 son, Larry who finally completed and received his bachelor degree from the University of Texas. Congratulations to Jack Schaefer who had successful right knee replacement on May 4. We ask you to remember Jack in your prayers that he has a rapid, successful recovery. Congratulations to Andrea Trachsel, daughter of Jeff Trachsel, who graduated from Oakland University on May 1 with a Bachelor of Science-Nursing Degree. Hopefully this fall she would like to return to school again to be a Nurse Practitioner. Karen and I would also like to announce the birth of our newest Grandson on May 7. Damien Thomas was 7.8 lbs and 19.5 inches long. He is the son of Karen’s daughter Nicole and son-in-law Jason. Mother and baby are doing well. One down and two more to go this year!
The ladies spring luncheon is set for Saturday, May 16 at Papa Vino restaurant, Livonia. All daughters and daughter-in-laws are invited. Final pinochle was held on April 19 at Cadieux Café. Congratulations to Jan Cashman who was awarded the first place plaque with total points of 134. There were 19 TRI-V members for dinner and feather bowling after. The Anniversary party is scheduled for Friday, June 19 at Joy Manor, Westland. Entertainment will be provided by the musical group Killarney Creek. Final Golf is scheduled for the weekend of Aug. 21-23 in Gaylord.
This wraps up another trip down Memory Lane. With the Corona Virus we have so many memories to think and talk about. Some of our grandchildren will have no memory of what has happened. Now is the time for us to take time to discuss our memories with each other as well as our children and older grandchildren. Do you remember going to Edgewater Park, the Boblo Boat or Boblo Island or maybe a trip to Belle Isle to go canoeing? How about Hudson’s downtown that they were not able to enjoy or riding on a street car? Hopefully you are getting the point. Share those memories with all. Until we see you next month in print, the Lord willing, take care of one another.

Our prayers went out to Dave and Geri Ruetenik. On their return from FL, Dave had an incident that looked like a stroke. Geri took Dave to a nearby hospital and they air lifted him to one in Lexington, KY. He eventually was able to get home to MI the last week of April and admitted to Ford Hospital. He had two surgeries, one for implant of a feeding tube and then for insertion of a tube to drain the fluid off his brain. Geri also needs another round of chemo to treat her lung cancer. Art Trachsel is still battling pain in his left arm and making trips to the doctors and in rehab trying to rele3ase the pressure in his neck. Liz Heidt, wife of Jane Trachsel’s brother, Jim, passed away on April 26 after battling breast cancer since October 2008. Millie Hoch, mother of Judy Lardin, has been suffering with fluid buildup behind her chest cavity and congestive heart failure. Our prayers go out to Dave, Geri, Art, Jane and Judy and their families. Congratulations to John Mackson as being named the News Herald Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season as well as being chosen by his peers as the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan Region 1 Coach of the year. Congratulations to new grandparents, Jacqui and Jack Schaefer on the birth of Sebastian on May 7. His father is the Schaefer’s son Mark. MEMORIES FROM THE APRIL 2015 ISSUE OF TRI-V UMPH
Tri-V members attending the memorial for Art Dushary were the Connollys, Kuhrs, Clingermans, and Gies along with many family and friends of Art and Kathie including his five grandchildren. Three new council members were elected—Ryan Trachsel, Dale Horst and Nick Angelosanto. The Tri-V golf season will begin April 13 at Hickory Hill Golf course, Wixom. The ladies spring luncheon will be May 16 at Papa Vino Restaurant, Northville. The TRI-V family event was held with 29 adults and 23 kids in attendance. Final golf to be held Aug 21-23 at Ray’s Retreat, Gaylord MI. During John and Judy Lardin’s stay in FL, grandson, Kristian flew down on April 3 and will return with Judy and John on April 8. Judy is more than ready to be home. Alyssa’s last words to Judy on her birthday were “Grandma you have to come home right now!” Judy and John’s next planned trip is to Idaho to celebrate Judy’s Uncle’s 90th birthday. This ends another trip down memory lane. Easter has passed and to many this is the beginning of spring with the golf courses open, grass nice and green, the trees showing buds and the Tigers new season starting., It is also a good time for us to start sharing past memories of spring. Take the time to share a past memory with your loved ones, husband, wife, parents and grandparents as well as our children and grandchildren. The point we are trying to bring across each month to all is take the time to share part memories with your family and friends. Until we see you next month in print, The Good Lord willing, take care of one another.

MEMORIES FROM THE MARCH 2015 ISSUE OF TRI-V UMPH
Our prayers go out to Kathie and the Dushary family on the passing of Art Dushary. Election will be held in March and following the election three council seats will be filled. The TRI-V family event will be held at the Best Western Plus Sterling Inn., Sterling Heights MI on March 21. The Tri-V Ladies will again enjoy Hankerd Inn in Pleasant Lake, MI for their getaway in August. Final pinochle will be at the Cadieux Café; dinner at 5 pm and bowling will follow. A group of pinochle players got together in Fort Myers for March pinochle. The big winner was George Hoffman with 25.5 points, Jan Cashman with 24.5 points, and Judy Lardin with 24 points. May Open House will be at Beacon Hills Golf Club, White Lake, MI on May 9. The Anniversary party is scheduled for Friday, June 19, at Joy Manor in Livonia. Final Golf is to be held Aug. 21-23 at Ray’s Retreat, Gaylord, MI. The only person reported travelling was Judy Lardin, who returned home with Mike and Bev to Michigan on Feb. 20; Judy returned to FL Feb. 22 without Alyssa’s blessings. Final Pinochle scores for the 2014-2015 season had Jan Cashman in first place with 134 points, Onallee Trachsel in second place with 129 points and Ken Stress in third place with 124.5 points. This wraps up another trip down memory lane. Neither issue seemed to have much to share with fellow Club Members. This trend has continued to this date. The memories will be fewer and fewer to share with each other. Until we see you next month in print, the Good Lord willing, take care of one another.

MEMORIES FROM THE MARCH 2010 ISSUE OF TRI…

MEMORIES FROM THE MARCH 2010 ISSUE OF TRI-V UMPH
Our TRI-V family was in good health. Please keep in your prayers Jeff Trachsel who will be having surgery to remove a polyp and repair a hernia on March 18. Only other article in this issue was reported by John Lardin on the unfavorable weather in FL this winter. The month of Feb. had no more than five days when the temp got into the mid-70s and the nights have been on the cold side reaching lows in the 40s. Son Brian was able to make it down for four days and get in a couple rounds of golf and was followed by daughter-in-law Gina with Bella and Dante for five days. The temp for March is expected to be in the high 70s and low 80s. Matt VanHollebeke had a busy month. He finally finished his house to move in and his fiancé Kali went to Las Vegas NV for Matt’s sister’s wedding. There he asked Kali for her hand in marriage and she even said “Yes.” March has turned out to be a special and busy month for Donna and John Clingerman. John has turned in his resignation and will be retired by the time the newsletter comes out. They have sold their condo in MI and started the building process for a new home in Sun City, Hilton Head, SC. Donnas was going to be in Lake Tahoe the entire month of March taking care of grandbaby Isabel. The Children’s Easter Egg Hunt was set for March 28 at Maple Lanes Golf Course and the Anniversary Party is set for April 24 at the AMVETS Hall, Westland. 18 TRI-V members and guest met at Mallie’s bar and Grill, Taylor for dinner then to Kennedy High School to watch an exciting game between Kennedy, coached by John Mackson, and Melvindale with Kennedy winning 54 to 51. Final Pinochle standings for the 2009/2010 season had Nick Angelosanto finishing in first place with 146 points, Cal Cashman in second place with 133.5 points and Vickie Angelosanto in third place with 133 points.

MEMORIES FROM THE FEBRUARY 2010 ISUE OF TRI…

MEMORIES FROM THE FEBRUARY 2010 ISUE OF TRI-V UMPH
We ask you to remember in your prayers Art Dushary who has been in the hospital for over a week and has been running a fever for three weeks. They have not come up with a diagnosis yet and is still running a fever and is in quite a bit of pain. Judy and John continue to enjoy FL though the month of January and first part of February were not as warm as 2014 but still comfortable. John did suffer a case of the flu (or something like that) and it took over two weeks to get over it. Judy talks to Alyssa, Alyssa asks “Grandma, are you still in Florida? I need a sleepover with you.” Cal and Jan Cashman made it down for the month of FEB. Jeff Trachsel was thrilled to announce that daughter, Andrea, is expecting her second child in August. This will make three new grandchildren for Karen and Jeff this year. Information was passed out for nominations in February and election in March. The family event will be held at the Best Western Plus Sterling Inn on March 21. The ladies getaway will be held August 3 at Hankerd Inn in Pleasant Lake, MI arriving on August 3 and leaving for home August 5. Council party was held on Jan. 24 in downtown Rochester, MI. Unfortunately there were only 7 TRI-V members attending. Final Pinochle will be held at Cadieux Café, Detroit on April 19. Final Golf to be Aug. 21-23 at Ray’s Retreat, Gaylord, MI. With pinochle gradually losing players, it was brought up at the January meeting to change pinochle to marbles. Pinochle standings through February play had Onallee Trachsel in first place with 114 points; Ken Stress in second with 107 points; and Romas Bliudzius in third with 106 points. This wraps up another issue of memories. As you can tell February 2010 was not one of our healthiest months. We continue to pray for all those in need of our prayers—they do work. Until we see you in print next month, the Good Lord willing, take care of one another.

MEMORIES FROM THE FEBRUARY 2010 ISUE OF TRI…

MEMORIES FROM THE FEBRUARY 2010 ISUE OF TRI-V UMPH
The club mourned the passing of long time member Bud Massoll. Bud was a very active member and quite the athletic excelling in bowling, golf and softball as well as a sharp pinochle player. Prayers went to Blondie Forsyth, on the passing of her son-in-law, Jim Jiggins, on Feb. 3 in his home. Jim was a retired Major and upon his retirement from the service was a pilot for American Airlines. Our prayers also go out to Vickie and Nick Angelosanto. Vickie’s mother, Vickie Battel who resides in AZ fell and broke two ribs in her back as well as a hospital stay with pneumonia. Prayers also needed for Nick’s mom, Rosa, who has many medical problems. She continues to see different doctors to get a different perspective on care for her. Our prayers also for Mildred Hoch, mother of Judy Lardin, who spent five days in the hospital while staying with Judy and John, with a bowel blockage. Fortunately they were able to clear the blockage without surgery. While she was there they also found and drained a quart of fluid from behind her lung and a decision will be made for treatment she may need when returning to IL. Sherry and Bob Kuhr were leaving on Feb. 1 for FL making stops along the way to visit friends in the Villages, then to Kathie and Art Dushary for a few days, then to Port Charlotte to visit friends and ending up March 1 at Tim and Karlyn Gies in North Fort Myers and returning home Easter weekend. Pinochle standings through Feb. play had Nick Angelosanto in first place with 125.5 points; Cal Cashman and Vickie Angelosanto tied for second place with 112 points and Dion Angelosanto in fourth place with 110 points.

The month of January 2020 proved to be…

The month of January, 2020, proved to be a harfd month for all of TRI-V but we were able to show our true meaning of what TRI-V stands for with all showing our true color for all we were faced. I know for Judy and I it was the worst month that we had to sdurvive in many years. We arrived in Ft. Myers on Sun., Jan. 5th, and were oin our way back to Mich. three days later. Because of changesd in schedule John had to return to For chemo treatment and ended making three trips between Jan.5th and Jan 21st.
WSomehow the memories for Feb., 2020, got lost in space and will have to be found and will appear in the March 2002 edition with the March Memories.

MEMORIES FROM THE JANUARY 2015 ISSUE OF TRI-V UMPH
January 2015 had everyone in good health. The only family travelling were Judy and John Lardin who spent the second weekend of December in Corpus Christi, TX celebrating grandson, Jacob, 8th birthday. Upon their return they packed their bags and left on Jan. 4 for three months in Fort Myers. Reported events were The Children’s Christmas party on Dec. 14 at Eddie Edgar Ice Arena, Livonia with 43 adults and 26 children in attendance. The necessary paperwork for the TRI-V election to be held in March was published for eligible members. The ladies getaway was scheduled for August 5 at Hankerd Inn, Pleasant Lake, MI. The TRI-V Council party was set for Jan. 24 in downtown MEMORIES FROM THE JANUARY 2010 ISSUE OF TRI-V UMPH
There were a few members that were in need of our prayers. First is Geri Reutenik, who had surgery on Dec. 21 to remove cancer from her lung and will then undergo chemo and radiation. Marge Stock who is still in the nursing home in Franklin, TN who continues with memory loss and lastly John Lardin who had an upper respiratory infection that was caught before it turned into pneumonia. Those travelling included the Clingerman’s going to Witkenburg, AZ for a family reunion on Donna’s side of the family. Cal and Jan Cashman went to Plano, TX over Thanksgiving to visit with Jan’s daughter, Julie. Jack and Jacqui Schaefer travelled to Bloomington, IN to help out son Mark for a week and Judy and John Lardin left for Ft. Myers, FL on January 11, this year staying for three months.
Activities included the TRI-V Wives Christmas party attended by 15 ladies on Dec. 16 celebrated at Plymouth Crossing in Plymouth; the children’s Christmas party held on Dec. 6 at the Maple Lanes Golf Club in Sterling Heights, attended by 25 adults and 10 children. The fall social event was held Dec. 13 attending the play “Miracle on 34th Street” put on by the Farmington players and attended by 13 persons. The February social will be Feb. 12 going to Mallie’s Sports Grill and Bar followed by a basketball game at Taylor Kennedy High School, coached by John Mackson. TRI-V pinochle standings through January had Nick Angelosanto in first with 97.5 points; Vickie Angelosanto in second with 89.5 points and Romas Bliudzius in third with 87.5 points.
Rochester, MI for the 8th annual fire and ice festival. Pinochle standings through January play had Onallee Trachsel in first place with 97 points; Jacqui Schaefer in second place with 86.5 points; and Ken Stress in third with 86 points.
This wraps up another trip down memory lane. As you can see, there wasn’t much to write about in January 2010/2015. Continue to remember all those in the TRI-V family as well as our friends and family that are in need of our prayers. Prayers do work. Until we see you in print next month, the Good Lord willing, take care of one another.
