  Golf League Updated 

  Another week and another impressive performance by Jeff. He’s really golfing well, and has lowered his score each week. This week a +1 over par 36 took first place, giving him an almost perfect 23 out of 24 (max) points. Unfortunately for the rest of us regular (crappy) golfers, this means there is little hope of overcoming the commanding lead he’s built up. However, the good news is he dropped that “blemish” 42 score to lower his handicap down to a miniscule 3.7. Nice golfing Jeff, but a 36 might not take first place this week… better try for a 34.

  FYI: Four golfers (Bill, Jay, Jeff, and Steve) dropped a score this week, as they had golfed four weeks overall. Three other golfers (Mike L., Mike T., and myself) will potentially drop a score this week assuming we all golf.

  Golf League Updated 

  This week Jeff was out-sandbagged by the up and coming Mike Lewandowski. Its about time you took advantage of that monster handicap, Mike! I think maybe after two years of extreme sandbagging, Mike is ready to strike! Watch out everyone!

  Jeff still took 2nd place this week, extending his commanding 1st half points lead. However, his handicap is finally back to respectability so maybe it’ll be a little more difficult down the stretch.

  Finally, congratulations to Steve Trachsel for winning a skin on hole #1 with a bogey! Really? Nobody else could at least bogey #1? Really? I guess timing is everything…

  Golf League Updated 

  The score sheets are finally up to date for the new season. There were some errors regarding averages since the sheet was not updated and 100% hdcp had not yet been applied. Please double check the scores and notify me if there are any issues or questions.

  Jeff continued to take advantage of his pathetic season last year (sandbagger) by winning another 5 points. Yes, I did check his last year’s average several times and its correct. In case you wanted to know, he golfed 6 times last year and scored 50, 49, 46, 43, 47 & 49 for a starting year average of 46.8. So far this year he’s scored a 42 and a 40.

  Golf League Updated (2012 Start) 

  Yay! Bowling is finally over and golf has begun! As you maybe didn’t know, we (I) sucked at bowling so I’m looking forward to sucking at golf too! 🙂 Golf starts 4/23, so I hope you can make it out. Unfortunately I can’t, so I’ll see you next week. Getting “in the money” is the same as last year, $30 per half. Please get your money to Jay asap, we’d like to have it all by the 3rd week at the latest.

  Golf League Updated 

  Well, all that build up to the finals this year and it was a real pillow fight, with Mike Trachsel taking the win by posting a score 3 strokes over his average. I was worse, as I shot 4.5 over average. Oh well, I guess there’s always next year.

  Final payouts will be handed out at final golf, or the next time Jay or I see you. The payout breakdown will be posted on trivclub.com and included in your payout envelope. Please let me know if there are any discrepancies.

  Golf League Updated 

  The points feeding frenzy known as Trachsel vacation is over, and I was able to muster up the minimum 1 point required to take the 2nd half. That means I’ll be facing off against Mike Trachsel this week for the season championship. I hope everyone had fun this season and if not, take it up with Jay! Seriously though, if anyone has any suggestions on how to improve our league, please let us know as we’re open to new ideas.

  On a personal note, my wife gave birth to our first child, a baby boy, on Thursday, August 11th. His name is Matthew and he weighed in at 9lbs 5oz and was 23″ long. Luckily he timed his birth perfectly enough so that I could golf without missing a week! Good job Matthew!

  Its that magical time of the year again, where points are given out like candy; Trachsel vacation! This year I’ll be here so hopefully I can score the 1 point required to clinch the 2nd half from Jay.

  As with the first half, looks like we’re in for another tight finish!

  8/1 (today): 2 weeks left in 2nd half
  8/8 (next wk): 2nd half FINAL (Yes, we will be golfing)
  8/15 (2 wks): 2011 Tri-V Championship – Mike T. vs. ?????

  Corrections made last week:
  Matt V.’s HDCP was 8.7, corrected to 8.0 (I forgot to drop a 2nd score). This had no effect on points or low net for last week. Sorry for any confusion.

  Wow, lots of great scores this week, and the development of a potential father/son race for the 2nd half!

  Golf League Updated 

  Romas decided to golf out of his mind this week, shooting a 43, his lowest score ever* in Tri-V golf! In another amazing feat, I aced hole #3 to take home the $59 “greenie” jackpot. Possibly more importantly though, as Bill T. put it, an equally amazing quarter drop was made at the VFW afterwards to win a free beer.

  Please note several golfers dropped a score last week, including Tim, Jeff, Mike T., Steve, Romas, and Mike L.
