AUGUST MEMORIES
MEMORIES FROM THE AUGUST 2007 ISSUE OF TRI-V UMPH
On July 29th we lost Ginny Massoll, beloved wife of Bud for 68 years. Our prayers go out to Bud, children and grandchildren. Kathie and Art Dushary were hosting the Wendt Family at their home with 16 sleeping wherever around the house. A side note that their home was now on the market. Karlyn Gies and her daughter, Tracey, and granddaughter, Natalya, travelled to Pennsylvania to visit with Lisa and the newest addition, little Andrew, the first part of July. The end of July found the Kuhrs, Clingermans and Gies travelling to Houghton Lake for the weekend. The Trachsel family again spent a week together at an Ohio State Park the week after July 4th. The travel plans for Judy and John Lardin included trips to the west side of the State for dinner with four of John’s high school buddies, then Judy making a trip to IL to visit her Mom and attend her 45th class reunion while John is at final golf then upon their return a trip to Texas to visit Larry and family. John and Robyn Mackson packed up their two babies and took the train to New York City to o lots of site seeing and taking in a ball game. Jack and Jacqui Schaefer missed the steak Roast as they were in Indiana to work on the farm that has been in their family for over 150 years. Mike Lardin announced his engagement to Bev Pritchard while Jack and Jacqui Schaefer were marrying off their last child in September. It looks like 2007 was the last year for the “Annual” winter get away for Nick, John, Cal and other TRI-Vers and friends after over 20 years. It all started when the airlines were deregulated and the three of them flew to AZ in Jan. to play golf. We had as few as six and as many as 16 making the annual trip with the highlight being the 10th anniversary when the wives joined us for a week.
MEMORIES FROM THE AUGUST 2012 ISSUE OF TRI-V UMPH
We are sorry to report the loss of longtime member Bill Suchner on July 13. Our prayers go out to Shirley and the rest of the family. The end of July and first part of August was a busy month for Judy Lardin. The health of her mom has continued to deteriorate. She spent a week with Mom the end of June, again in July, and also August. Son, Larry, and family came in from Texas August 12th and went immediately to Rantoul to be with Grandma.
Judy and John have the same condo in Fort Myers for three months and Cathy and Bill, friends from Fort Myers, were in Detroit for a teacher convention and spent a week with John and Judy.
The Tri-V Picnic was held at Clintwood Water Spray Park in Clarkston. It was attended by 36 adults and 18 children. The steak roast was set for August 11 at Metalla Park in Wixom. Final golf will be held the weekend of August 17 at Ray’s retreat in Gaylord. The ladies getaway is set for Sep. 6 through the 8th in Holly, Hartland and Fenton area. This wraps up another trip down Memory Lane. Judy Lardin’s new look of no glasses lasted for almost 9 years as she is back in glasses and the lake front house that Art and Kathie Dushary had for sale in 2007 finally sold in 2012. We are now in the ending part of summer as our children and grandchildren will be returning to school. Are there any special things that happened this summer that will be a memory in the future? Maybe put together some pictures and write a little story to share in the future when they are all older to see if they remember. Don’t let your memories slip away. Until we see you next month, the Good Lord willing, take care of one another.
