    JOHN LARDIN UPDATE

    JOHN LARDIN UPDATE

Judy and John left for Ft. Myers after chemo treatment on Jan. 10th arriving in Fl. on Jan. 12th. John met with the chemo Doctor on Mon., Jan. 15th and started his treatment on Mon., Jan. 22nd. His next treatment was scheduled for Mon., Feb. 5th but is platelet count was too low and was postponed for another week which will be tomorrow. Unfortunately there is no way to increase the platelet count. It is all up to “mother nature.” On the good side we have been busy since we arrived. Has bee 10 years that we have been coming to Fl. and staying at New Approach. All were excited to see us and said “You two are the last to arrive.” There are 108 units here and are like one big family. Like John said when they came for the first time when asked about the condo “Have a king size bed and high rise toilet. What more do I need?” Ellie and Terry Connolly came down for the weekend and we had an evening of dinner and cards with the Andersons, Cashmans, Lardins and Connollys. Have celebrated birthdays since arriving and been just busy, busy. We were fortunate to make an overnight trip back to attend the memorial service for Jack Schaefer’s Mother. Judy will be coming back on Valentines Day to pick up Alyssa (Mikes daughter) and bring her back to Ft. Myers then five days later to take her back to Mi. then she will return to Fl. the next day. Thank God for the flight benefits. Temp for the next week are to be a low of low to mid 60s and the high 85 to 87 degrees with no rain predicted. More good news is got a call from the owner of the condo and we are all set for next year. That about it from Ft. Myers. Have to get ready for Judy to play golf with Jan and Cal as I get to be Judy’s caddy. Thank you for all your continued prayers. Please, please keep them coming for me and fellow members of our TRI-V Family and friends. THEY DO WORK.

    JOHN LARDIN UPDATE

    JOHN LARDIN UPDATE

As you read this issue of the TRI-V Umph Judy and John Lardin will finally be in Ft. Myers Fl. Their trip was delayed one week because of John’s chemo schedule. The good news to report is the cat scan taken in Aug. showed the tumor at 2.5 cm and the Dec. cat scan showed a reduction of the tumor at 2.1 cm. A sign what the Drs. are doing is working and the PRAYERS DO WORK. The week delay will allow Judy and John to spend a night at Caesars in Windsor before departing for Fl. His next scheduled chemo treatment is Mon., Jan. 8th and the disconnect on Wed., Jan. 10th. Plans are to leave on Wed. after the disconnect and arrive in Ft. Myers sometime on Fri. the 12th. Hoping all have had a great Holiday Season and see all when we return sometime in April. Please keep the prayers coming not only for me but all our family, TRI-V Family and friends that are in need of them.

    JOHN LARDIN UPDATE

    JOHN LARDIN UPDATE

John continues with his every other chemo treatment. He is listed as being on maintenance and will remain so until the tumor is gone. His last cat scan showed a slight decrease in the tumor in his liver. Since he started chemo in July 2016 the tumor has shrunk a little over 50% so the chemo is working. The primary purpose of maintenance is to prevent the tumor from getting larger. Judy and John spent five days in Corpus Christi TX celebrating granddaughter Christine her 13th birthday. They also found time to make a bi-weekly trip to Caesars in Windsor to contribute to the Canadian economy. In Dec. they will be back to Corpus Christi to celebrate grandson Jacob birthday then a cat scan sometime in Dec. to see how the tumor is doing then get ready for FL leaving the first or second week in Jan. depending the test and chemo dates. Bottom line! Thank all for their continued prayers and cards. THE PRAYERS DO WORK!

    J LARDIN UPDATE

    J LARDIN UPDATE

Things continue to improve for John. He continues on his chemo treatment every two weeks. The Dr. was finally able to give him some medicine to hopefully relieve the numbness and cold he has been suffering the last year. His latest echocardiogram and EKG showed his heart rate and lungs clear. The heart Dr. on a scale of 1 to10 rated his heart at close to a 7. GOOD NEWS. The latest opinion from the cancer Dr. is the tumor has shrunk a little since his cat scan in April. Besides several trips to the Casino, travel plans are a trip to Corpus Christi TX to celebrate granddaughter’s Christine 13th birthday.Judy and John have been fortunate to never missed Christine’s birthday in TX. I thank all for your continued prayers. They do work.

    GRANDPAENTS DAY

With September being the month we celebrate Grandparents Day we send this of our Grandmas in TRI-V.

Once upon a time there was a child ready to be born. The child asked God, “They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?”

God replied, “Among the angels, I’ll choose one for you. Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you.”

The child further inquired, “But tell me, here in heaven I don’t have to do anything but sing and smile to be happy.”

God said, “Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you every day. And you will feel the angel’s love and be very happy.”

Again the child asked, “And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me if I don’t know the language?”

God said, “Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words that you will ever hear, and with much patience and care your angel will teach you how to speak.”

I’ve heard that on Earth there are bad people. Who will protect me?”

God said, “Your angel will defend you even it means risking its life.”

At the moment there was much peace in heaven, but voices from Earth could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, “God, if I am to leave now please tell me my angel’s name.”

God replied, “Her name is not important. You will simple call her “GRANDMA.”
