Children’s Christmas Party
Yes, fall just started, but plans for the Children’s Christmas Party are under way. Mark your calendars for Sunday, December 2nd, from 2pm to 5pm at the VFW Hall, 2652 Loon Lake Rd, Wixom, MI 48393.
We will be serving hot dogs. If you or your child will not eat hot dogs, please bring something they like.
All are asked to bring a dozen cookies or some veggies, fruit or a snack to share.
As in the past wrapped gifts will be passed out by Santa. Your child’s name should be marked clearly on the package.
We need all to RSVP as soon as possible to help with our planning.

2018/19 Pinochle
If you would like to play pinochle this year please contact Jacqui or Vickie. We will need to know if you are a playing as a regular or sub and if you would like to host. As we did last year, we will only use subs if regular players cannot play and they are needed.
TRI-V PINOCHLE 2018-2019 Rules/Guidelines
Pinochle for the season will start on Sunday, October 21. Pinochle will be played on the third Sunday of the month, unless notified. We will be playing in individual homes.
1. Starting time will be 3:30 p.m., with cards starting at 4:00 p.m. The host will collect and keep $2.00 per guest. The host provides cards, ice and snacks. Guests are to bring their own drinks and a dish to share for the evening.
2. Each host will receive tallies and schedules. Hosts will number the tallies. All players will draw from the same group of numbered tallies. Your partner may be a man or woman. The number of your tally will coincide with the schedule. The schedule provides information on partners and tables. Each player will play six games. Make sure your name is on the tally. Put your partner’s number on the tally for each round. This is for checking scores, if necessary.
3. Reneges should always be corrected if possible. If unable to correct and the bidding team is guilty, the bidder is set. If unable to correct and the renege is not made by the bidding team, then the bid is automatically made.
4. The prize money will be based on the number of couples playing that evening. $3.00 PRIZE money will be collected from ALL players. Prize money will be distributed at the end of the evening.
5. If a hand is opened, re-bidding is allowed. Bidding ends when three (3) consecutive passes have been made AFTER the last bid. If you pass, you may re-enter the bidding. For example, you may wish to give your partner a meld bid, if he bids after you have already passed.
6. Guests who cannot play must, give three day notice to Jacqui or Vickie.
7. Please notify the committee NOT the host if you need a sub

Livonia – Age 102. Died peacefully July 3, 2018. Beloved wife of the late George Balser, and the late Thomas C. Ryan. Predeceased by brothers Francis and Donald Dickes and sister Dorothy Dickes. Close friend of Marcia Ryan. Survived by one nephew, one step-son, 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren. Helene was a real “Rosie the Riveter” in World War II. Funeral Mass Monday, July 9, 2018, Instate 9:30 am until Mass, 10:00 am, St Albert the Great Church, 4855 Parker Street, Dearborn Heights. Interment to follow at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery. -

May Open House
May Open House is Saturday, May 12. Shot Gun start 8:30 am. at Brentwood Golf Course in White Lake. Includes, hot dogs, chips and pop at the turn. Dinner consists of all the hot dogs and hamburgers you want, chips, baked beans, and cole slaw. $70 per person, this includes all prize money. If bringing a friend, please let me know. RSVP to Nick by May 4.

Shirley Suchner died Saturday evening, March 31. She was such a wonderful part of Tri-V. I’m so happy to have fun memories of times we shared. Women’s Overnight Trip
The women of Tri-V are going on a one-night excursion to Shipshewana. We will be leaving early on Tuesday, May 15 and returning (time??) Wednesday, May 16. We apologize to the working ladies for the middle of the week dates. The trip has been planned around a trip to the Flea Market and it is only open Tuesday and Wednesday.
We will be staying at the Morton Street B & B. We have five women planning on going right now. There is room for more. If you are interested and would like more information please contact Victoria 734-522-5366. -
