  (Non-Urgent) Text Message Test 

  Hello All,

  This is a test of the Tri-V text message system.  If you receive this email but didn’t get a text, you are not on the text message list.  If you would like to be added to the text message list, please send your cell number and carrier to trivclub@gmail.com.

  Please note only a portion of the text will be received via text message.  To read the entire message, you must either read the post on trivclub.com or check your email inbox.

  Finally, any member can send a message in this manner by creating a post and categorizing it as “News – Urgent”.  See the how to page for more details.  Please note you must log in and create the post, the email method will not work.

  Tri-V Messaging System (Non Urgent Message) 

  Hello Tri-V Members,

  I’m working on setting up a text messaging system for urgent correspondences. In order to set it up, I need to know your cell phone number and your carrier. To opt in, please send me this information.

  Please note if you opt in, there should be no charges to you even if you don’t have text messaging. I think it only charges you for text messages sent. If you’re unsure, you should check with your provider. Also if you opt in, you will still receive the same information via email.

  Please let me know if there are questions. Otherwise please send me your information and I’ll add you to the new communication system.

  Website Updates/News 

  Hello Everyone!

  I have made some improvements and have a request regarding the website.

  1. Urgent news can now be automatically sent via email to all Tri-V members.  Urgent news is usually something qualifying for activation of the calling list, but could include important event updates, etc.  To automatically email all Tri-V members: log in, post a message, change the category to “News-Urgent”, and Publish.  Within a few minutes all members will receive an email containing your post, including you.  Don’t know how to make a post via logging in?  Check out the How To page!  P.S. SMS text message notification of urgent news is coming soon!
  2. Many people are still using the email method to post content to the webpage.  My request is to try the preferred method (log in, create the post using the website) instead.  The email method doesn’t always work, doesn’t track who made the post (I have to manually change it), doesn’t add a category (I have to manually add it), and the main reason is it’s actually a security hole in the website.  Therefore please visit the How To page and try the preferred method as I’d like to eventually shut that email down.  If you have any trouble I can help too.

  October Pinochle at the Cashmans 

  The first night of pinochle was held at our home on October 15th at 6:30pm with 18 people attending. We had a great assortment of snacks to share and we enjoyed them all. Our guest list consisted of Ken & Kate Stress, Jeff & Karen Trachsel,Nick & Victoria Angelosanto,Mike & Kristin Trachsel, John & Judy Lardin,George & Peggy Hoffman, Jack & Jacqui Schaefer,Romas Bliudzius and Walt Christensen.

  Our high score of the night was Walt with 28 points followed by Kate 27, Jeff 26, Ken 23,Romas & Nick tying with 21..5,Kristen 20.5,John & Jan 20, Judy 19.5,Cal & George 18.5, Jacqui 18,Jack 17.5,Peg 15.5,Karen 14, Mike 13 and Victoria 12. According to the new rules prize money was paid out at the end of the evening.

  Victoria & Jacqui, the pinochle committee this year, did a super job of making sure everything went smoothly for the first night of cards. Thanks girls for all your hard work.

  We enjoyed hosting and spending a fun evening with everyone. Look forward to the rest of the pinochle season with our friends.

  Kate Stress’s Father 

  Kate Stress’ father, Wladyslaw (Walter) Kwiatkowski, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2016. He will be at the Voran Funeral Home at 23701 Ford Rd., Dearborn, MI. on Sunday, October 9, 2016 from 2 until 8 pm. Services will be Monday at 11 at the funeral home with a procession past his home to the St. Hedwig Cemetery on Ford Rd.

  UPDATE ON JOHN LARDIN 

  John had his first cat scan since he started the chemo in June. Unlike a sore knee or cold you have no idea if the chemo is working until you have a cat scan. I am happy to say that the power of prayer does work. The stage 4 cancer in the liver is stable which is great news.

  What if boils down to is the chemo is working and the cancer has not spread further in the liver. The med staff is completely happy. Was told that John will always have the cancer but after the 6 month treatment ending in Dec. they believe he will begin a chemo maintenance treatment that might be just taking a pill. All will be decided after he has another cat scan in Dec. We ask you to continue to remember John in your prayers. THEY DO WORK.
