Picnic Sign Up
Please fill out the sign up sheet so the committee can get a better idea of how many adults and kids will be attending. If you could also indicate what you might be bringing, it would be helpful. Thanks.

July President’s Message
Summer always seems to fly by. The 4th of July is already behind us. We just spent the last week at our cottage and it was so hot even the dog just wanted to play in the lake and sit in the air conditioning. I was able to find some time to golf on the men’s golf league a couple of weeks ago for the first time this season. I golfed like it was my first time all season, but it was good to be back out on the course. The golf league will continue its second half throughout July. I may make a guest appearance here and there now that the kids baseball and softball seasons are wrapping up. The Tri-V picnic is on the calendar for July 29th at Rotary Park in Livonia. I hope everyone can make it. It is always a fun filled day. Until then, keep cool.

June President’s Message
Happy Father’s Day to all of the dads of Tri-V. I hope you have a nice, relaxing Sunday. I realize my President’s Message is a week late (The paper went out last Sunday) so I apologize for that.
We have already had a busy month as a club. The golf league has just wrapped up the first half and will begin the second half tomorrow. If you couldn’t make the first half of golf, you can still get in on the second half. There is a morning group that usually tees off around 10 and the regular league tees off at 4:30.
We held our final pinochle and marbles event at ComedySportz Detroit, an improv comedy theater in Ferndale. From all accounts, it was a fun time. Thanks to Matt Hoffman for setting this event up.
Friday evening we held an initiation for new club member Chris Demick. Twelve members attended this event at the VFW hall in Wixom. We had a great meal of steak, potatoes, beans, and salad. Thanks to Brian for setting everything up and to Dale for perfectly cooking the steaks. Welcome Chris, glad to have you aboard.
Next weekend we will have the family event at Jimmy John’s Field in Utica. We will be taking in a baseball game. The field is new and beautiful, the baseball is entertaining, and there are a lot of things for the kids to do. This should be a fun event for the kids and the adults. If you have not yet reserved a ticket, give Mike a call. I think he may have a few more to sell.
Enjoy this beautiful weather we’re having. Happy Summer! -

May President’s Message
Happy Mother’s Day to all of our Tri-V moms and grandmothers. Hopefully you all enjoyed a nice afternoon surrounded by family.
There are a lot of updates to report since thew last President’s message: we have voted in a new member (Chris Demick), we finished the bowling season and have started golf, we got defeated by mother nature in our open house, and we have booked several events. Our newsest member will take the official oath next month in a top secret ceremony. Both bowling teams rolled out the end of the season with nothing to show for all their hard work. The golf season is just beginning, and since I haven’t golfed yet I’m not sure how it’s going. The men’s open house was washed out by rain. We played a few holes and tryed to make it work, but putting through a flowing stream proved too difficult for most of us. Please be sure to read the rest of the paper for important event updates regarding the family event, final marbles/pinochle, initiation, open house make up, and much more. -

April President’s Message
I think I am beginning to fully understand the reason why so many Michiganders spend so much time in Florida. After 8 days here we are driving home sun tanned and relaxed. We have heard that it has been cold and snowy back home. Hopefully some of this Florida sunshine will follow us.
The bowling season wraps up this week. Neither of the Tri-V teams were able to get into the roll off this year, but at least we had fun? Golf will begin when the course thaws. Maybe next week.
At this month’s meeting we will be voting on prospective member Chris Demick. Please try to be there to offer your input.

March President’s Message
Winter appears to be finally wrapping up. There have been a few late snow flurries and some colds days to remind us not to put the winter gear away just yet, but there are enough signs pointing to spring at last. The bowling season is almost over and the two Tri-V based teams are hanging around in the standings. It may be a long shot for either team, but there is still a chance. The golf schedule is being finalized as we set to tee off next month. Marbles and pinochle have concluded and we look forward to a final Pinochle/marbles event to crown the champions. After a few long months of hibernation, I look forward to some outdoor activities.
At the March meeting we will be nominating at voting on three new council members. If you are not going to be at the meeting but would like to volunteer to be on the council please let me know before Tuesday. -

February President’s Message
If you love snow and cold, this February has not disappointed. Hopefully we have seen the worst of it for the rest of this winter.
Despite the cold and snow, we have enjoyed a few opportunities to get together. Last month we traveled across the border to do something truly Canadian; curling. I think the nation of Canada was laughing at us, but we all had fun and no one ended up at Hotel Dieu Grace. Thanks to the council for planning a fun evening.
Marbles and pinochle seasons are wrapping up next month. I’d like to thank Nick and Vickie for hosting everyone this month when my kids were recovering from illnesses.
Our meeting will be this Tuesday at Drakeshire at 6:15. Hope to see everyone there. -

January President’s Message
Happy New Year everyone. I hope your holiday season was peaceful and relaxing. I wish you all the best in 2018. This month we look forward to the council party in Canada. We will be attempting some curling. The way this weather is going, it will be warmer in the arena than outside. We have a club meeting this Tuesday at Drakeshire at 6:15. I hope to see you there. Until then, try to stay warm.

December President’s Message
Happy Holidays to all of our Tri-V families. it’s hard to believe that the holidays are here already. The holiday season kicked off this weekend with the annual Christmas party. We couldn’t be there, but it looked like the kids enjoyed themselves and the visit from Santa Claus made the day that much more memorable.
Wherever you may be spending this holiday season, enjoy this time with friends and family. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
