Presidents Message Tri V is losing another active…

    Presidents Message
Tri V is losing another active member this month due to a job related move. We have been told Matt and Christine Hoffman will be relocating to the Phoenix Arizona area. Matt has accepted a job offer in Phoenix and will be moving there in March with Christina and the kids moving sometime after school is out. I would like to congratulate Matt on the new job. Matt and Christina we will miss you very much.
With March well underway and our poor Tigers getting ready for another wonderful season it can only mean Tri V golf is right around the corner. I can’t wait for the weather to warm so we can hit the links.
Those of us who attended the Tri V council party on February 15th at the Farmington Players barn enjoyed a very well done funny play. The turnout was light as there was many conflicting schedules for that weekend.
Marbles continues this month at the homes of Jack Scheafer and Brian Trachsel good luck to all players.

    Hoffman’s New Adventure

As most of you know, I have been out of work for a little while. It has been an interesting time accepting being out of work and looking for what God has in store for me and my family. Well, as of today, this has changed. I am excited and happy to have received an offer from Hydro Aluminum Extrusion that I am accepting. This is a great opportunity and an answer to prayer in many ways. It will not only change my work career, but will have an impact on my social calendar as well. This is because the position is in Phoenix, AZ.

We are going to be moving to Phoenix, AZ!!!!
We are happy, sad, fearful, and optimistic for what God has in store for us.

I will starting in the middle of March and then Christine and the kids will be moving down after the end of the school year. I hope to be able to see most of you in the next couple of weeks, but if not, I want to let you know that we are not leaving Tri-V. I am just going on an extended assignment to find better weather and courses for final golf.

I will be in touch as always, but this change has given me time to think about things that are important to me. Tri-V is absolutely one of these things. The relationships we have here are something special and are not taken for granted. I will more than likely be working around the house purging things not to be packed for the move for the next couple of weeks. I really just want to say thank you and let you know that Tri-V is growing geographically.

    Matt Hoffman

February proved to be a busy and short…

February proved to be a busy and short month or Judy and John John has his usual two chemo treatments for the month. They played golf on Sunday afternoons with Jan and Cal Cashman and a group from Century 21 followed by dinner. Judy and Jan played golf on Friday morning unless they were in a painting class. Then there was a card making class. Of course there was cards, hand and foot on Monday afternoons, euchre on Thursday evening at New Approach and euchre on Friday at Century 21 and two stage plays during the month. There was a weekend visit with Ellie and Terry Connolly from Ocala which was a full day with lunch/dinner and an evening of card playing. Squeeze in a trip to Michigan for the winter break of Alyssa. Unfortunately she had a fever and the visit with her lasted a couple of hours. They were to able to spend time with “little” brother Nick and John was able to be his partner at pinochle. The good news is John has talked to the owner and the rental is good for as long as wanted into the forseeable future with the rent remaining the same for next year. Knowing there are a few things missed out but as you can tell it was a busy month.

MEMORIES FROM THE MARCH 2015 ISSUE OF TRI…

MEMORIES FROM THE MARCH 2015 ISSUE OF TRI-V UMPH
Our prayers go out to Kathie and the Dushary family on the passing of Art Dushary. Election will be held in March and following the election three council seats will be filled. The TRI-V family event will be held at the Best Western Plus Sterling Inn., Sterling Heights MI on March 21. The Tri-V Ladies will again enjoy Hankerd Inn in Pleasant Lake, MI for their getaway in August. Final pinochle will be at the Cadieux Café; dinner at 5 pm and bowling will follow. A group of pinochle players got together in Fort Myers for March pinochle. The big winner was George Hoffman with 25.5 points, Jan Cashman with 24.5 points, and Judy Lardin with 24 points. May Open House will be at Beacon Hills Golf Club, White Lake, MI on May 9. The Anniversary party is scheduled for Friday, June 19, at Joy Manor in Livonia. Final Golf is to be held Aug. 21-23 at Ray’s Retreat, Gaylord, MI. The only person reported travelling was Judy Lardin, who returned home with Mike and Bev to Michigan on Feb. 20; Judy returned to FL Feb. 22 without Alyssa’s blessings. Final Pinochle scores for the 2014-2015 season had Jan Cashman in first place with 134 points, Onallee Trachsel in second place with 129 points and Ken Stress in third place with 124.5 points. This wraps up another trip down memory lane. Neither issue seemed to have much to share with fellow Club Members. This trend has continued to this date. The memories will be fewer and fewer to share with each other. Until we see you next month in print, the Good Lord willing, take care of one another.

MEMORIES FROM THE MARCH 2010 ISSUE OF TRI…

MEMORIES FROM THE MARCH 2010 ISSUE OF TRI-V UMPH
Our TRI-V family was in good health. Please keep in your prayers Jeff Trachsel who will be having surgery to remove a polyp and repair a hernia on March 18. Only other article in this issue was reported by John Lardin on the unfavorable weather in FL this winter. The month of Feb. had no more than five days when the temp got into the mid-70s and the nights have been on the cold side reaching lows in the 40s. Son Brian was able to make it down for four days and get in a couple rounds of golf and was followed by daughter-in-law Gina with Bella and Dante for five days. The temp for March is expected to be in the high 70s and low 80s. Matt VanHollebeke had a busy month. He finally finished his house to move in and his fiancé Kali went to Las Vegas NV for Matt’s sister’s wedding. There he asked Kali for her hand in marriage and she even said “Yes.” March has turned out to be a special and busy month for Donna and John Clingerman. John has turned in his resignation and will be retired by the time the newsletter comes out. They have sold their condo in MI and started the building process for a new home in Sun City, Hilton Head, SC. Donnas was going to be in Lake Tahoe the entire month of March taking care of grandbaby Isabel. The Children’s Easter Egg Hunt was set for March 28 at Maple Lanes Golf Course and the Anniversary Party is set for April 24 at the AMVETS Hall, Westland. 18 TRI-V members and guest met at Mallie’s bar and Grill, Taylor for dinner then to Kennedy High School to watch an exciting game between Kennedy, coached by John Mackson, and Melvindale with Kennedy winning 54 to 51. Final Pinochle standings for the 2009/2010 season had Nick Angelosanto finishing in first place with 146 points, Cal Cashman in second place with 133.5 points and Vickie Angelosanto in third place with 133 points.

MEMORIES FROM THE FEBRUARY 2010 ISUE OF TRI…

MEMORIES FROM THE FEBRUARY 2010 ISUE OF TRI-V UMPH
We ask you to remember in your prayers Art Dushary who has been in the hospital for over a week and has been running a fever for three weeks. They have not come up with a diagnosis yet and is still running a fever and is in quite a bit of pain. Judy and John continue to enjoy FL though the month of January and first part of February were not as warm as 2014 but still comfortable. John did suffer a case of the flu (or something like that) and it took over two weeks to get over it. Judy talks to Alyssa, Alyssa asks “Grandma, are you still in Florida? I need a sleepover with you.” Cal and Jan Cashman made it down for the month of FEB. Jeff Trachsel was thrilled to announce that daughter, Andrea, is expecting her second child in August. This will make three new grandchildren for Karen and Jeff this year. Information was passed out for nominations in February and election in March. The family event will be held at the Best Western Plus Sterling Inn on March 21. The ladies getaway will be held August 3 at Hankerd Inn in Pleasant Lake, MI arriving on August 3 and leaving for home August 5. Council party was held on Jan. 24 in downtown Rochester, MI. Unfortunately there were only 7 TRI-V members attending. Final Pinochle will be held at Cadieux Café, Detroit on April 19. Final Golf to be Aug. 21-23 at Ray’s Retreat, Gaylord, MI. With pinochle gradually losing players, it was brought up at the January meeting to change pinochle to marbles. Pinochle standings through February play had Onallee Trachsel in first place with 114 points; Ken Stress in second with 107 points; and Romas Bliudzius in third with 106 points. This wraps up another issue of memories. As you can tell February 2010 was not one of our healthiest months. We continue to pray for all those in need of our prayers—they do work. Until we see you in print next month, the Good Lord willing, take care of one another.

MEMORIES FROM THE FEBRUARY 2010 ISUE OF TRI…

MEMORIES FROM THE FEBRUARY 2010 ISUE OF TRI-V UMPH
The club mourned the passing of long time member Bud Massoll. Bud was a very active member and quite the athletic excelling in bowling, golf and softball as well as a sharp pinochle player. Prayers went to Blondie Forsyth, on the passing of her son-in-law, Jim Jiggins, on Feb. 3 in his home. Jim was a retired Major and upon his retirement from the service was a pilot for American Airlines. Our prayers also go out to Vickie and Nick Angelosanto. Vickie’s mother, Vickie Battel who resides in AZ fell and broke two ribs in her back as well as a hospital stay with pneumonia. Prayers also needed for Nick’s mom, Rosa, who has many medical problems. She continues to see different doctors to get a different perspective on care for her. Our prayers also for Mildred Hoch, mother of Judy Lardin, who spent five days in the hospital while staying with Judy and John, with a bowel blockage. Fortunately they were able to clear the blockage without surgery. While she was there they also found and drained a quart of fluid from behind her lung and a decision will be made for treatment she may need when returning to IL. Sherry and Bob Kuhr were leaving on Feb. 1 for FL making stops along the way to visit friends in the Villages, then to Kathie and Art Dushary for a few days, then to Port Charlotte to visit friends and ending up March 1 at Tim and Karlyn Gies in North Fort Myers and returning home Easter weekend. Pinochle standings through Feb. play had Nick Angelosanto in first place with 125.5 points; Cal Cashman and Vickie Angelosanto tied for second place with 112 points and Dion Angelosanto in fourth place with 110 points.
