MEMORIES FROM THE APRIL 2009 ISSUE OF TRI-V UMPH
We are happy to report that there were no known members of the TRI-V family including the extended family that had special need for our prayers though I am sure there are and to those we ask you to remember them in our prayers. We introduced two new prospective members to the Club. Dave Oflara, sponsor is Bill Trachsel Jr. Dave and his wife Josephina are the parents of two boys, Dominic who is three years old and Vito who is ten months old, reside in Sterling Heights, MI. Our other prospective is Jason Osborne, sponsor is Dion Angelosanto. Dave and his wife April are the parents of Jaylynn and reside in Garden City, MI. Judy and John Lardin on their return from FL the first part of April spent a week in Corpus Christi TX with son Larry and family. They helped them move into their new home that is on a canal that leads into the Gulf of Mexico. Larry found it necessary to close his restaurant and was fortunate to be hired as a manager at Red Lobster. Upcoming scheduled events included TRI-V Anniversary Party on April 18 at the Maples of Novi; the first night of the TRI-V Golf league on April 20 at Hickory Hills Golf Course, Wixom, TRI-V Final pinochle on April 25 at Docs, Livonia, May Open House on May 1 at Gateway Golf Club, Romulus, Ladies May Dinner on May 20 at Bonefish Grill, Novi, TRI-V steak roast on Aug 8 at Mettala Park, Wixom, TRI-V Wives Weekend Getaway on Aug. 28 and 29 at Saravilla Bed and Breakfast, Alma and Tri-V Final golf the weekend of Aug 28-20 at Ray’s Retreat, Gaylord.
MEMORIES FROM THE APRIL 2014 ISSUE OF TRI-V UMPH
We are sorry to report that Dorothy Suchner, wife of founder, Ray Suchner, passed away from natural causes on the 25th of May. She was in hospice for three weeks and died a peaceful death. Our prayers go out to her family. Judy and John arrived back from FL on Monday, April 7. Judy had mixed feelings about returning as the weather was still predicted to be on the cool side while John had wishes to stay one more week. The winter was good this year in Florida with visits from son John in March, and Mike, Bev and Alyssa the middle of February and sandwiched in between their visits “little brother”, Nick Angelosanto for a week. Plans have been confirmed for next year at the same condo and same dates. Art Dushary spent another birthday in the hospital. He was light headed while heading back to his chair and passed out and landed face first on the floor. He had a broken nose, black eye and eight stitches on his face. They are running tests to find out what the cause was. Congratulations to Steve and Amber Trachsel on the birth of their second daughter, Adalena Rose, on March 20; and to Michael and Kristen Trachsel on the birth of their daughter, Madeline Michelle, on March 29. The newly elected council members for two year terms are Dave Burke, John Mackson, and Jeff Trachsel. The June initiation is scheduled for June 6, time and place TBD. Final Pinochle was set for April 5 at the Cadieux Café, Detroit with feather bowling followed by dinner. The Tri-V golf season will start on April 14 at Hickory Hills, Wixom. May Open House will be at Brentwood Country Club, on May 10. The Anniversary party is scheduled for June 27; more info to follow. Tri-V picnic scheduled for July 13 at Rotary Park, Livonia; Final Golf the weekend of Aug. 15-17 in Gaylord with reservations at Ray’s Retreat and finally the Children’s Christmas party will be on Dec. 14 at Eddie Edgar Ice Arena, Livonia. This wraps up another trip down memory lane. Easter will be here soon and hopefully with warmer weather. Judy and I were in FL on a vacation and we were the first non-family members that Lorraine Trachsel met. She always had a special place in our hearts. Pat and Stan Reid were a fun couple to be around. Unfortunately Stan became a member of TRI-V at a late age and then retired to FL and Jim Buckley was responsible for the bidding to be changed in TRI-V pinochle. He felt it was better for him to over bid his hand and go set and let the opponent get half of his bid than for the opponent to get the bid points. In the golf course Jim would say so often “The ball just does not go where I hit it.” These are memories I have to these people. There are so many other memories we all have in our minds and hearts. Some of them are about people, some of things we did as children as well as with our children or grandchildren. Don’t keep these memories locked up; take the time once in a while to share them with others. See how many of them that you remember they also remember. Until we see you in print next month, the Good Lord willing, take care of one another.

By the time you Judy and I will be back in MI. We will be leaving on
Sun., March 31st, and stopping on Ocala to spend a few days with Ellie and
Terry Connolly then continue through OH to visit John’s cousin in Akron OH. This is a new way home and will avoiding all the heavy traffic through GA and KY and Cincinnati OH. John has continued with his chemo very other week and usually ends up with one tired day in that period. We Should arrive home on April 4th. This has been another wonderful winter in Ft. Myers and fortunately we have found a new rental in the same location for next year as our current owners after 11 years will be coming down for the winter months. We have been told that the new owners have no intention of retiring soon so hopefully we will have another long run at renting. It sure makes it nice knowing each year we have the same place to come to and being able to leave some articles here instead of carting back and forth each year
On our return we will celebrate grandson Dante’s confirmation on April 8th. Judy has a face time from Alyssa and asking already for a sleep over on Fri., April 5th. Of course Judy said “We will have to wait and see” but you know what that means.
John did get in five of rounds this year Did not do the best as the
loss of weight and chemo wore him out some but he is looking forward to joining the TRI-V Golf League this summer.
Looking forward to see all at the Anniversary Party. Until take care of oneanother and continue with prayers for all in need.
John Lardin

Tri V 2019 Golf
The 2019Tri V golf season will begin (weather permitting) on Monday April 15th at 4:30pm at the Hickory Hill golf course in Wixom. The last night of golf will be August 12th.
We will use a 100% handicap system again this year. There will be 2 halves but only 1 flight and the amount of points per night will be determined by the number of people that sign up to be in prize money. Each half will be 8 nights with the 17th night used as a playoff between the winners of each half and the next 2 highest point winners for the season.
The cost to get into the prize money for the season will be $30 per half.
Those who do not want to pay into the prize money can still join us for golf and can get into any daily jackpots if they choose to.
Please let the committee know asap by either link below if you plan on getting into the prize money so the number of points per night can be set before the 1st night of golf.
