    Draft or Superbowl

As one of the few Lion’s fanatics in the club, today is a big day!?!?

The NFL draft begins tonight. Does this increase or decrease my fandom? Will I out of nowhere go and buy the new logo wear for my team? Will Intentionally do something that will prevent me from being engaged? Too many questions for one post.

However, with the 21st pick in the draft the Lions select …..

    We will see.

    Anniversary Greeting

Happy 80th anniversary to our wonderful friends of TRI-V. It has been a great privilege to be a part of such a great group of people over the years. We have made so many good friends and enjoy all the activities that have always been planned with great care. We are looking forward to the 80th Anniversary Weekend that is coming up in June. Should be a great memory making time.

    Love to All

    Happy Easter

    Happy Easter Tri-V!

When not attending Good Friday or Easter services and family gatherings, here is what we were doing this weekend.  We spread 5 yards of top soil followed by grass seed over our barren yard.  Hopefully we’ll get some grass to grow!

P.S. Our website is powered by WordPress and I made this post via the WordPress app.  You can too!  Just download it from the app store and log in to get started!

Golf League Updated – Week 1

Welcome back to Tri-V Golf, 2017! As usual we managed to narrowly avoid bad weather, with the exception of one hole. The weather is looking great for next week (in this case tomorrow), so hopefully we’ll have a full crowd.

It looks like almost everyone is shaking off the rust or adapting to the challenges of Hickory Hills, as there were only two scores under average from last year. Nate was the big low net winner, scoring about two over average. The lone birdie of the day was shot on #9 by me (no big deal). At least I was able to get a skin for my effort. The other four skins were won just by shooting par.

As usual, points may or may not change from the first few weeks depending on who decides to get in the money or not. If you are going to partipate in the money, please pay Jay $30 per half or let him know you’re out. We need everyone paid for at least the first half by week 3.

    Family event

On the Saturday before Easter, 24 of us gathered at Drakshire Bowl to enjoy 2 hours of bowling and pizza and pop.

Everyone expressed they had a good time. From the kids that were on one lane to adults on another. Children, parents and grandparents were present and having fun.

The event came out to $6.00 for bowlers and $3.00 for others. Thank you to all who made it out and to my committee who helped make this happen.

    Egg hunt – interesting idea

Just attended the Easter egg hunt at Ward church and I may incorporate thier approach. 6 eggs. One in each color of the rainbow. Special gifts inside and tied to the Easter story.

I am probably just jealous that they did not stuff hundreds of eggs per child and used toys over candy, but I thought it was a good idea. This may become a new tradition for us.

    God bless,

    Easter Traditions

As I sit here looking at Facebook seeing colored eggs and many newer Pinterest projects that just make me feel unworthy as a father to my children, I think back to my childhood and wonder what I remember the most. I was surprised at the thoughts? and thought I would share.

Dressing up and going to church. Where there was an egg hunt.

    Taking a family photo.

Dinner with family, usually ham, scalloped potatoes and my favorite deviled eggs.

Life seems to be just getting busier and more about the things of life, rather than relationships. Makes me grateful and appreciative of my extended family,  Tri-V. Hope we are able to share some time together over this weekend. Have a great Easter weekend and please enjoy family in the midst of all the other things. Mine is enjoying watching the family make a rainbow layered Rice Crispy treat using Peeps. Sharing time with you all at the family event and dinner with our family, where the traditions still hold. Bring on the deviled eggs!!!!

    God bless,

    Matt Hoffman

    Paper – Hoffman

Sitting here at the Tri-V meeting being reminded that we all are falling short of our responsibility as members to share our lives with everyone. Here is my convicted post.

I was in Germany last week for three days networking and building? my career at Continental. While I was away, my wife and kids got active with her parents and went to the Wisconsin dells.  For those that may not know, the dells are the home for the most waterslides in the world.

The trips were great fun, but started off with a new van as our old one decided to show a leaky radiator right before departure.

April is a busy month for us, but we hope to see each of you on Saturday for the family event. For those we do not see, have a Happy Easter.

    April President’s Message

It’s been a long time since I missed a deadline for the paper. I would blame Dave, but he seems to have things up and running again. I guess my best excuse is old age having just turned 40.

March has come and gone, bowling has finally, mercifully, ended and golf season is ready to begin. Hopefully we will have more record setting numbers of members and friends out on the golf course for our Monday league. Dave and Jay have really made golf at Hickory more fun than it should be.

At our March meeting we held our election of officers and election of 3 new council members. There were no changes in officers for the upcoming term. The three new council members are Dale, Bob and Cal. The family event is happening this Saturday at Drakeshire Lanes. There will be lunch and bowling for the kids. The Easter Bunny may even make a special appearance and bowl a game or two with the kids.

We will be meeting again on Tuesday at Drakshire. Since I won’t be at the meeting I’d like to wish everyone a Happy Easter if I don’t see you before then.

    Tri-V Golf League

Just a reminder of the golf league starting tomorrow (4/10). We’ll again be golfing at Hickory Hill in Wixom starting at 4:30 PM. Pretty much everything will be the same as last year (rules, single flight, side bets, etc.). It looks like the rain should hold off until we’re all finished, so I hope to see you all out there tomorrow!

    -Dave
