    TriV Council Party

    Tri V Council Party

The Tri V council party was held on Saturday January 28th at Karls Cabin. We were late getting our tables which slowed our dinner but that was the only negative of the night. The food was good despite being served later than we thought it would be.

The dueling piano players ( husband and wife team) were very good. They played mostly songs requested and got the audience involved.

Bob Kuhr had a prominent role in the banter all night after he was brought on stage to help with a Snoop Dog song for his birthday. There was lots of singing and hand clapping.
It was a fun evening the committee hopes everyone had a good time.

We had 24 people attending and many stayed to the very end of the night. The $7 per person cover charge totaling $168 was covered by the event budget ($175) with the remaining $7 going to song request tips.
Attendees: Couples-Jeff Trachsel, Brian Trachsel, Steve Trachsel, Mike Trachsel, Jay Trachsel, Ryan Trachsel, Dale Horst, Brett Barnes, Bob Kuhr, Jack Schaefer, Matt Hoffamn
    Singles- Kim Burke, Romas Bliudzius
Your Committee: Jay Trachsel, Ryan Trachsel, Jeff Trachsel , Dale Horst, Romas Bliudzius, Goerge Hoffman, Nick Angelosanto

Tri-V Messaging System (Non Urgent Message)

    Hello Tri-V Members,

I’m working on setting up a text messaging system for urgent correspondences. In order to set it up, I need to know your cell phone number and your carrier. To opt in, please send me this information.

Please note if you opt in, there should be no charges to you even if you don’t have text messaging. I think it only charges you for text messages sent. If you’re unsure, you should check with your provider. Also if you opt in, you will still receive the same information via email.

Please let me know if there are questions. Otherwise please send me your information and I’ll add you to the new communication system.

    Thanks,
    Dave

P.S. This is not an urgent message, but I wanted to test the new email messaging system.

    Website Updates/News

    Hello Everyone!

I have made some improvements and have a request regarding the website.

    1. Urgent news can now be automatically sent via email to all Tri-V members.  Urgent news is usually something qualifying for activation of the calling list, but could include important event updates, etc.  To automatically email all Tri-V members: log in, post a message, change the category to “News-Urgent”, and Publish.  Within a few minutes all members will receive an email containing your post, including you.  Don’t know how to make a post via logging in?  Check out the How To page!  P.S. SMS text message notification of urgent news is coming soon!
    2. Many people are still using the email method to post content to the webpage.  My request is to try the preferred method (log in, create the post using the website) instead.  The email method doesn’t always work, doesn’t track who made the post (I have to manually change it), doesn’t add a category (I have to manually add it), and the main reason is it’s actually a security hole in the website.  Therefore please visit the How To page and try the preferred method as I’d like to eventually shut that email down.  If you have any trouble I can help too.

    Thank you!

    -Dave

    January President’s Message

Happy New Year to everyone. Hopefully everyone enjoyed the holidays and time with their families. It looks as if we will have to wait at least one more year to see the Lions win the Super Bowl.
This month we will have the council party at Carl’s Cabin on the 28th. Dueling pianos will provide some entertainment for the evening. We will also be continuing the marbles and pinochle seasons. Only two more chances to catch up in the standings if you are behind. Our bowling teams are now in the second half of the season. Neither team did very well in the first half, but both are off to better starts in the second half.
I know many TriV members are preparing to or have already headed south for the winter. Enjoy the warm weather. See you back here when the lakes thaw and the snow melts.

    JAN MEMORIES

MEMORIES FROM THE JANUARY 2007 ISSUE OF TRI-V UMPH

Our prayers go out to Peg Wendt. She came home from the nursing home on Jan. 3rd hoping that Bob would be able to take care of her. She was unable to walk and it was found that she had a broken ankle. A removable cast was placed on her foot but unfortunately she had to return to the nursing home. We continue to pray for Peg. She has suffered so much the last few years.

We shared with fellow members our travels over the Christmas/New Year Holiday as well as upcoming travels. Donna and John Clingerman spent Christmas in San Francisco CA with John’s brother while Jan and Cal Cashman spent Christmas with their two daughters and their family in Franklin TN. Art Trachsel flew up to Gulfport MS to spend time with Lorraine’s family while Peg and George Hoffman returned to MI for the holidays visiting friends and family on the way in Dayton and Cincinnati OH. Judy and John Lardin were leaving the beginning of Jan. for San Antonio TX to see their newest grandson, Jacob, born to Kim and Larry on Dec. 16th. They planned on staying a week, maybe longer if Judy’s service were needed.

There were articles on Dec. Pinochle hosted by Jacqui and Jack Schaefer, Karlyn and Tim Gies and Vickie and Nick Angelosanto. There were articles on the upcoming Council Party on Jan. 27th at Palazzo di Bocce for indoor bocce ball, Auburn Hills, and the Winter Event on Feb. 11th with feather bowling at the Cadieux Café, Detroit. The Children’s Christmas Party was held on Dec. 17th at Madonna University, Livonia. There were 62 in attendance, 43 adults, 16 children and three babies. Pinochle scores through Jan. play had Vickie Angelosanto in first place with 99.5 points, Judy Lardin in second place with 96 points and Jan Cashman and Brian Trachsel tied for third place with 95 points.

MEMORIES FROM THE JANUARY 2012 ISSUE OF TRI-V UMPH

We were fortunate to start the new year with no know members or extended family in need of our prayers. Unfortunately the only trifles were from Judy and John Lardin. Their article included the annual trip to Corpus Christi TX to celebrate grandson Jacob’s birthday and celebrate Christmas with Kim and Larry and on their return celebrate grandson Dante’s birthday. Both of them were born on Dec. 16th and both families have been good at celebrating birthdays on different dates allowing Judy and John to celebrate both birthdays. They made a trip to Waterford to visit Santa and it was rather unique. The person that played Santa really looks like he could be a Santa with mostly bald head, a full white beard and glasses. You tell Santa ahead the children’s name, something about them, how good or bad they have been, how they are doing in school and he does a great job of having the children actually believing he is Santa. He drive to FL was a little different this year as John and Nick Angelosanto left on Jan 5th and Judy flew down on Jan. 14th. Nick spent a week with John getting in a couple of rounds of golf and returning to MI on Jan. 11th.

The 2012 TRI-V Council Party was set for Jan. 28th and was a blind bag, wine tasting event at the home of Amber and Steve Trachsel. Pinochle standings through Jan. play had Brian Trachsel in first place with 96.5 points and a tie between Karlyn and Tim Gies with 88 points.

This wraps up another trip down memory lane. Hopefully as you read the memories each month you might be able to remember if you made the event or how u did in pinochle as you look at the leaders. Speaking of pinochle have you noticed each month that there is usually one person who is in the top three every year? Now we are making the memories that hopefully someone will read about in five or ten years. This will not happen unless you take the time to let your editor aware for them to be published each month. If we are on the computer putting something on face book then please, please take the time to send the information to the editor. Not everyone has or looks at face book. Until we see you in print next month, the Good Lord willing, continue to look after one another.
