MEMORIES FROM THE NOVEMBER 2006 ISSUE OF TRI-V UMPH
It is always had when putting the memories together when you have to start out with the passing of a TRI-V Member of its family. This month we mourned the loss of Jim Buckley who passed away on Nov. 1st and to Lee and Marian Anderson on the loss of Lee’s mother on Nov. 5th. She was 96 and had fallen on Nov. 4th and broke her pelvis. There were several Club members that were in need of our prayers. We start out with Peg Wendt who suffered a T.I.A., mini stroke in late Oct. , Bud Massoll who had knee replacement the end of Oct., Karen Thrift who was having arthroscopic surgery on her knee, Lu Wagner who fell and broke his hip in late Oct. and John Lardin recovering from total knee replacement on both knees in Oct. Don and Dory Gasco, original Club member, moved to an assisted living complex at Cyprus Gardens in Boynton Beach FL. after years at Briny Breezes. After four evacuations last year at Briny Breezes they knew it was time to make the move. The only one we doing any traveling we were aware of where Art Trachsel going to Bill and Onallee Trachsel’s for Thanksgiving weekend. The Children’s
Christmas Party was set Dec. 17th at Madonna University, Livonia, and the Wives Club Christmas Dinner was scheduled for Dec. 21st at the home of Jacqui Schaefer. Another article was published for the 70th TRI-V Anniversary Party to take place the weekend of June 22nd through June 24th in Cadillac MI at McGuire’s Resort. There were articles on Oct. Pinochle hosted by the Lardins and Wutkas. Pinochle standings through Nov. play had Judy Lardin in first place with 52.5 points, Jan Cashman in second place with 51.5 points and Peg Hoffman in third place with 51 points.
MEMORIES FROM THE NOVEMBER 2111 ISSUE OF TRI-V UMPH
The month of Nov. found several members of the TRI-V Family in need of our prayers. We start with Blondie Forsyth thanking all for the cards and visits on the loss of her granddaughter, Jamie, on Oct. 15th.John Lardin was suffering with a impeached nerve in his shoulder and a steroid shot, ice packs and exercise took care of that problem. Sherry Kuhr was suffering with two broken fingers from falling down the spiral staircase at Rob’s apartment in Munich Germany. Those traveling included Sherry, Bob and Chris Kuhr to Munich Germany to visit Rob and the family. They departed on Sep. 13th and returned on Oct. 4th. They spend a lot of time with the grandchildren as well as sightseeing. Judy and John Lardin spend Thanksgiving Holiday in IL with her Mom and sister. Beverly, Mike and family joined them and returned on Sat. with Judy and John returning on Sun. We mentioned last month about the scare Mike put into Mom and Dad. The results from the Dr. were all positive. The Dr. could not believe that Mike was a smoker and heavy caffeine user (coffee and Mountain Dew). Adam Dushary, youngest son of Kathy and Art, is the head chef at Fox Hills Golf and Banquet Center. He entered the chili cook-off contest and came in first in restaurant category. This was the first time for Adam and we congratulate him. The Nov. 2011 Social was set for Dec. 13th and was a photo scavenger hunt around the City of Detroit. The Children’s Christmas was set for Dec. 10th and the Ladies Christmas Dinner was set for Dec. 14th at Bravo, Livonia. This wraps up another trip down Memory Lane. As you can tell the memories from 10 years ago are much more filled with info than five years. The reason? Ten years we had some writing the articles from the info that was picked up at different times. The last five years the articles are from those furnished by each individual. The TRI-V Umph each month seems to getting smaller and smaller. At the rate we are going in time the paper will be four pages with little information. There will be few memories to share. Now is the time to try to make some change and have someone write the articles or individuals sending them to Dave to be published. Would sure hate to lose the memories we have deep in our thoughts. Until we see you in print next month, the Good Lord willing, take care of one another.
